I'm responsible for the design of the layouts, graphics, themes, and the overall direction of the web interface for all products of the Office of Education's web site.I also supervise staff.
We use in-house and open source software to deliver and manage our departmental responsiblities.
On the job daily my tasks involves CSS, Javascript, PHP coding. Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign are used as well. Dreamweaver is the basic wysiwyg interface. Most coding is done manually.

Changes continue here. Shamim Mollah has left for a position at a Major Law Firm. But not until revising all the URLRelations Code. Our next goal is to refactor all our code.
I have all CS3 programs now. And this is on a MacPro. Hard to compare to my 4+ year old laptop. Since setting up my own server, I have done more with mediawiki. Installing multiple wikis with a single install, we decided the format works for our clerkships.
The Ajax project with the Image Sets worked. Now we have to incorporate it into our new 2.0 code.

2004: Upgraded to Flash MX 2004 PROFESSIONAL. Life is sweet!
2003: Implementing Flash as a FrontEnd with a PHP/MySQL backend. This will be made public when I'm done with my FLASH project. So far I can tell you that I have successfully transferred data using serialize/deserialize. Utilized Flash's components, ie the ComboBox, used remote computings recordset and databinding to attach my data.
Its been an interesting experience, and NO I'm not jumping to 2004 version of MX if it means breaking my code. Besides whats the user base for V7 of the Flash Player??

I have been the Designer at the OOE / CBE since 1996.
All the design work especially Graphics and CSS coding has been created by me, or with my supervision.
What you can't see is what is going on behind the scenes, what work is put in to churn out the final HTML code that is parsed into your browser.
Powerpoint is the dominant software used by faculty to prepare course material. The Potential of Multimedia programs like Flash have yet to be fully exploited. One such attempt is my development of a Gallery for Dr. Christine Lawrences extensive Hematology Collection.
