The series of PowerPoint workshops are led by Dr. William Burton, Associate Professor, Department of Family and Social Medicine and Ms. Julianna Nova, Web Publisher & Faculty Trainer, Computer Based Education Department.
Wednesday, July 14 - 9:00-10:30am
This workshop will introduce you to the basic features of PowerPoint and will provide you with the knowledge and skills which will allow you to create, print and deliver PowerPoint presentations.
All participants will be provided with hands-on experience in creating a professional looking PowerPoint presentation during the workshop.
Tuesday, July 27 - 9:00-10:30am
Participants will be introduced to the features of PowerPoint that involve inserting, editing and using graphic images in the presentation.
The class focus on acquiring images from the Internet and other sources and incorporating them into a PowerPoint presentation.
All participants will be provided with hands-on experience in the following areas:
* Working with images prior to inserting them into PowerPoint and editing images that have been added to the slides.
* Inserting graphics or photos into PowerPoint presentation.
Issues related to scanning, printing and copyright also will be discussed during the class.

Thursday, August 19 - 9:00-10:30am
Learn how to incorporate movies, sounds and animation effects in your slides to create sophisticated PowerPoint presentation.
During the workshop participants will also explore the drawing tools and specific examples as to why animation is helpful (or not) for particular aspects of a presentation.
Participants will also be provided with hands-on experience in the following areas:
* Including animations (movements and sounds) into a presentation.
* Animating the transition between slides
* Playing video and audio clips during a presentation.
